Balad was bred by our good friends at the renowned Moreau-Sipiere International Kennels. He was our introduction to the Sloughi and the reason we fell in love with the breed!
When we got Balad, we never intended to show or breed. We wanted a family pet and he filled that role perfectly. He never met a human or dog he didn't like and was the perfect breed ambassador.
Not only was his temperament fantastic, but so was his conformation. We quickly decided to dip our toes into the world of conformation showing. He was successfully owner-handled in both American Rare Breed Association and United Kennel Club shows. He earned his UKC championship with only Hound Group placements.
In 2013, he became the father of our A litter. As a veteran, he was frequently Best in Miscellaneous Class against dogs who were all much younger than him. In 2015, he died from Wobbler Syndrome. He will forever have a place in our hearts. We miss him every day.
